We had a great time at the 2015 North Carolina Muscadine Festival in Kenansville on September 25th and 26th. We introduced Boss Bell’s BBQ Brew to hundreds of people from all over NC and even met some ladies from Ohio, a couple from Maine, and another couple from Long Island!
Congratulations to Craig Melville who won the YETI Roadie 20!
Check out festival pictures in the gallery.
Around the house, the Boss is actually Mike.
I love his sauce and have enjoyed watching him make it (and even have helped measure some ingredients from time to time) over the years. But I am so excited that we have turned the cooking over to Bobbee’s Bottling in Louisburg, North Carolina!
The down side of making that wonderfully delicious sauce is that it is messy! The incredible smell from the sauce cooking is a delight; however, the cleaning required before and after is something I’m not missing one bit! The Boss is a little messy. Yes, I would see and feel the sauce from the back door on into the kitchen . . . the faucet, the stove, and the doors of the refrigerator all had to be hosed down after he made his magic elixir.
But it’s all been worth it, because we can now share it with you!
So on to the ways you can use the brew . . . it is absolutely perfect on any kind of meat—from poultry to beef and pork. In fact, we’ve been told it is even good on bear!
At home, we use it as a condiment with french fries, shrimp, and chicken tenders.
The Boss is a good cook and uses the brew in stews and chili and as a marinade.
When we grill hamburgers, we even mix a little in the meat along with our other seasonings and the hamburgers are so juicy!
We have substituted our ketchup for Boss Bell’s Barbeque Brew . . . what a great idea that we hope catches on!
For me, there is something unique about the initial bit of sweetness that turns in to a little “tang” and finishes with the slightest bit of heat. Again, it is truly unique with a little bit of everything.
Over the years, The Boss has shared his sauce with almost everyone he has met. Our friends and family have also shared some interesting ways they use the brew.We have heard some say they dip plain bread in it and others say they can eat it straight from the bottle.
We strongly endorse all of these uses and hope you will share some more!
Mike, a.k.a. The Boss, has been perfecting this sauce for a couple of decades. Everyone he shared it with loved it and encouraged him to take it further.
Without the encouragement from his sons, Andrew and Eli, he probably would never have decided to have it professionally bottled. But they were right! This stuff is good, and I’m so glad I’m a part of it. The initial response has been great, and you have got to try Boss Bell’s Barbeque Brew. We are certain you’ll come back for more!
How do you brew?
This is delightful BBQ sauce! A great blend of east and west. Not too sweet; not too hot. Just right! I tried it on chicken and pork, and loved both.
Bossbells is the ONLY sauce you will ever want or need. It is fantabulous on pork, chicken, or beef! We give it as gifts to our grown children who love it!!!
Love this sauce. Great on pork and chicken. Bought several bottles. Makes great gifts to BBQ lovers.
Boss Bells great on chicken, tastes sweet and smooth then you get a little heat!! Love it.
Boss Bell’s sauce has the perfect combination of sweet & heat with a medium consistency that will have you reaching for more. Regardless if you’re a steak, pork or chicken lover, this sauce has your taste buds covered. There are plenty of sauces for your bbq needs but there’s only one Boss Bell’s. Pick up a bottle and reinvent your bbqing!
It’s some of the best BBQ sauce I’ve ever had!
I finally got a hold of some of the BBQ Brew today and I have to say that it is AWESOME! Job well done . . . can’t wait to try it out–on food anyways. It is delicious out of the spoon, though.
I grew up in Western NC and have sampled many sauces–east and west. My conclusion . . . this IS a darn good hybrid!
